The lighting for the U-Bahn station Elbbr\u00fccken U4 is designed to be as low-key and natural as possible, so as not to burden the daytime image with additional design elements. In principle, visual ballast is avoided so that the light unfolds its effect and not the luminaires themselves. This principle is of even greater importance for the night image. Therefore, care is taken to ensure high shielding angles and, in particular, that no stray components cause light pollution in the surrounding area.<\/p>

In order not to disturb the filigree roof construction, no lighting fixtures for the basic lighting are attached to it on the inside. In general, all luminaires are integrated into the architectural elements as far as possible. The luminaire bodies are not visible at first glance and therefore do not additionally disturb the spatial perception. For example, the basic lighting in the track area is integrated in the media strip and, on the track crossing, in the handrail.<\/p>

The lighting system complies with the recommendations of DIN 12464-1 \/ 2011-08 \/ Table 5.53 and the permissible luminous intensities are not exceeded, so as to avoid glare for train drivers.<\/p>
